Surf lifesaving at Narrabeen Beach is more than just patrolling the beach. It’s about looking out for your community, developing skills and making life long friendships.
What is a Surf Lifesaver?
Surf lifesavers are trained volunteers who’s efforts keep the beaches of NSW and around Australia safe. Working as part of a patrol team, we monitor beach conditions, identify hazards, assist beachgoers, perform rescues and respond to emergencies when they occur.
At Narrabeen Beach there is a role for everyone. In the water, on the sand or at the surf club – whatever your skills and interests there’s a place for you.

What’s involved?
To become a volunteer surf lifesaver with Narrabeen Beach SLSC we will facilitate a training program, either:
- The Bronze Medallion course (Ages 15 years or older)
- Complete the Surf Rescue Course (Ages 13-15 years)
Once qualified and proficient, you’ll join one of Narrabeen’s patrol teams and begin putting your skills into practice.
